Christmas with Tiffany Miss December arrives unwrapped Florida-born Tiffany Fallon has a Dixie flair for putting everyone at ease, which explains how she has sashayed from one career choice to the next. "I dare myself to try things," she says. The 30-year-old earned a college degree in sports management and now gives the inside scoop on college football recruiting as a host at Rivals.com. "I'm a sports fanatic," she says. "In high school I played volleyball and soccer and ran track. After I moved to Atlanta I became a Falcons cheerleader. We went to the Super Bowl in 1999 against the Broncos and lost, but I was happy just to be there. I had never cheered or danced professionally before." Her next adventure involved entering the Miss USA pageant, where, as Miss Georgia USA 2001, she finished as second runner-up. "The idea to do a pageant came after I worked as a flight attendant," she says. "I enjoyed being social with the passengers. I tried to look tailored--to be a throwback to the good old days. Sometimes I'd get in trouble because my skirt was too short or my hair wasn't right. I'd be like, 'I'm just trying to look fabulous, people!'"
Next, country music star Toby Keith cast Tiffany as the playful vixen in his "Who's Your Daddy?" video. "Now I get recognized anywhere country music is popular," she says. "I have spoofed myself in other videos, playing everything from a farmer's daughter to a tap-dancing envelope. Glamorous, huh? But I like to make people laugh."
Miss December's large extended family has holiday cheer to spare, dressing as pilgrims and Indians on Thanksgiving and as elves for Christmas. "For years I thought everyone did it," she says. "Now I look at pictures and think, Lunatics!"
When asked what she wants from Santa Claus this season, Tiffany responds with a knowing smile. "I'm a low-maintenance person, I swear," she says. "I drive a pickup truck and wear jeans and a T-shirt every day. I've dated poor guys, millionaires and men in between. But there is a side of me that likes being spoiled. I love jewelry and I like tokens of affection, but I would just as well go to a football game and eat a hot dog and nachos. I just happen to love the old-fashioned way of being courted."

Miss November 2004 Cara Zavaleta

NAME:
Cara Zavaleta

Bowling Green, OH USA

WAIST: 25"
HIPS: 34"
HEIGHT: 5' 6"
WEIGHT: 118 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To live life fully in the present and enjoy everything it has to offer!
TURN-ONS:
Whispering in my ear, nice butts and intelligence.
TURNOFFS:
Arrogance, sloth and nail-biting.
SOME BOOKS I AM READING:
Marilyn Monroe by Donald Spoto, The Nympho and Other Maniacs by Irving Wallace.
GUILTY PLEASURES:
Bingeing on each of the following: Chocolate Hostess cupcakes, US Weekly, E! Entertainment.
LAST FIVE CONCERTS I'VE SEEN:
U2, Dave Matthews, Sting, Elton John/Billy Joel and Phish.
IF I WERE AN ANIMAL, I WOULD BE:
A cat! Lying on soft pillows, getting brushed and playing with catnip toys sounds great to me!!

Road Trip MTV star Cara Zavaleta rules the road as Miss November MTV has been the launching pad for many a Hollywood career: Adam Sandler was a standup comic on the game show Remote Control, Jenny McCarthy slapped around male fans--and perfected her chops--on Singled Out, and Carson Daly, before landing his own late-night show, was Total Request Live's main tween wrangler. There was a time when Miss November, Cara Zavaleta, wanted her MTV too. You may remember her as the wide-eyed, enthusiastic beauty from Road Rules: South Pacific and later The Gauntlet, on which Road Rules and Real World alums faced off and hooked up while pursuing a cash prize. Cara is now touring the country as part of the 10-month Reality Bar Crawl. "We've been hosting ass-shaking contests, guest bartending, signing autographs and hanging out with people," Cara says during a pit stop at her Chicago apartment. "Bar owners want to hire us. I'm goofy, and I don't take myself too seriously. I think people like that."
On The Gauntlet Cara helped her team to victory--but would she do it again? "I would feel more relaxed and have more fun with it knowing that I'd already won one and that it didn't need to be another crazy competition," she says. "I would probably never do Road Rules again. It was uncomfortable and an invasion of personal space. I told the producers I had claustrophobia, and they put us in this small RV. We were sardines in that thing. Every mission was scary."
Bungee jumping aside, what really caught Cara off guard was the fan mail. "There were guys who worshiped me and wanted me to have their babies," she says. "People wrote mean things because they thought I treated my on-screen rival, Abe, badly. Abe was an untamed animal from Montana, so it was hard for me to adjust to him. But you can't take it personally."
When the bar tour dries up, and when she's not globe-trotting for PLAYBOY, Cara may continue to avoid the nine-to-five grind by starting her own fashion line. "I bought a whole bunch of beautiful yarn and two looms in Argentina, and I'm neck deep in weaving shawls and scarves that I'm selling," she says.
But don't count on Cara covering up anytime soon: "I love wearing next to nothing. Gauzy dresses are my favorites because they're barely on you. I've never been intimidated being naked in front of people. I read a book called The Nympho and Other Maniacs, by Irving Wallace. In it, women from the past two centuries talk about how they've gone against social standards in order to liberate future generations. That pumped me up."

HIPS: 33"
HEIGHT: 5' 5"
WEIGHT: 102 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To become successful, enjoy my career, have my own art studio and live somewhere hot by the beach!
TURN-ONS:
A great sense of humor, a sexy smile, beautiful eyes and, of course, really good Chinese food!
TURNOFFS:
Pickles, goat cheese, the smell of pork rinds, rude sarcasm and coffee breath!
THREE THINGS ON MY NIGHTSTAND:
My glasses, lip balm and a very loud and annoying alarm clock!
MY FAVORITE ARTIST AND WHY:
I love the work of Olivia. Her technique is amazing, and she makes the female body look beautiful. Salvador Dali is also one of my favorites.
I'M TOLD I LOOK LIKE:
Michelle Pfeiffer, Jaime Pressly, B. Spears!
I'M A SUCKER FOR:
Candy bowls. I grab all or a handful!
MY IDEAL FIRST DATE:
Anything that involves being lazy!

Kim's Class Action Miss October is booking through the University of Houston Although Kimberly Holland will graduate with a marketing degree from the University of Houston in December, the 22-year-old has a diverse precollege employment history. "My friends call me a job whore, she says. Every day they ask, 'Where are you working today?' I was a lifeguard. I waited tables. I made and sold drawings of human figures. I worked at an Abercrombie & Fitch store and several tanning salons. Oh, and I sold sex toys in a lingerie shop. I've done everything." Asked if she has some form of occupational attention deficit disorder, Kimberly smiles. "I'm independent, she says. I don't like people telling me what to do. If I don't agree with something, I speak up." She's obviously a class act, but what kind of student is she? "I don't get into mischief," she says. "My second semester here I stayed in my room to study or work out because I didn't have a car. Everyone gains the freshman 15, but I lost it."
Born and raised in Texas, Kimberly enjoyed equestrian sports but now prefers the companionship of smaller creatures. "I have a Chihuahua named Riley that everyone thinks is another breed because he's not bug-eyed," she says. "I think it's cute when people put outfits on their dog, but the dog probably hates it. Riley has a little black spiked collar--he's a tough man. He weighs six pounds, which is too big for him to come everywhere with me. I took him to the mall once, but I felt weird doing that. I'm not Paris Hilton."
It's fitting that Kimberly is Miss October--her favorite holiday is Halloween. "People want me to dress sexy for Halloween parties, but I always want to wear something gory," she says. "I love disgusting things. My friend's dad is a plastic surgeon, and he lets me watch the surgeries sometimes. I also love scary movies. In first grade I saw The Exorcist and didn't even have nightmares. The only thing that did give me nightmares was that fortune-telling machine in the Tom Hanks movie Big. It was so scary."
As she looks toward her future, Kimberly isn't sure whether she'll remain in Texas or move to "someplace less humid" after graduation. "At this point I have to please myself before I can please anyone else," she says. "I play life by ear, so I don't know what's in the cards. I'll think one thing, and then something totally different will happen."

Miss September 2004 Scarlett Keegan

NAME:
Scarlett Keegan
BIRTHPLACE:
Westlake Village, California
BUST: 34"
WAIST: 24"
HIPS: 34"
HEIGHT: 5' 5"
WEIGHT: 106 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To be a Bond girl, travel, have a successful business of my own and have a home and family.
TURN-ONS:
Intelligence, wit, sincerity, soulful eyes, optimism, sensitivity.
TURNOFFS:
Game playing, stinginess, cheesy pickup lines, laziness, poor hygiene.
FIVE MOVIES I WISH I WERE IN:
Chocolat, Goldfinger, My Fair Lady, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Sleepy Hollow.
WHERE I LIVE:
In a big country-style house on a couple of acres with a multitude of chickens and 4 adorable dogs.
MY STINT AS BARBIE:
I was cast as Chelsie, one of the Generation Girl Barbie dolls; I had to dye my hair maroon and look like I knew how to handle a guitar.
PEOPLE SAY I LOOK LIKE:
Nicole Kidman and Tori Amos

Scarlett Fever Miss September is red, hot and Irish When we meet Scarlett Keegan, the first thing she wants to get off her chest is that hers isn't a stage name. "My mom's favorite movie is Gone With the Wind," she says. "I didn't wake up one day and say, 'I want to be a star. I'm going to change my name to make it sound sexy.'"
By nature, Scarlett is 100 percent sexy -- and Irish, too. "My mom was born in Dublin, and I've gone there almost every year since I was young," she says. "Dubliners give you a hard time if you're Irish and you weren't born there. They know you have character if you can put up with a slagging. They're knowledgeable about American history -- more than we are -- which is embarrassing when you get into a political discussion at the pub. The city has a warm vibe. It's where my heart is."
Her body, however, is usually at her country home in California's Santa Ynez Valley, where she posed on her porch for this photo shoot. Did anyone tip off the neighbors? "No, and I'm not telling them," she says. "Word has already spread, though. It's a small town, and everyone knows one another."
Miss September has been acting and modeling since she was 12, but her cheeks turn as red as her hair when she recounts her first acting job -- in a toilet-paper commercial at the age of three. "I didn't understand how filming worked," she says. "I thought I was going to be trapped inside the television. I started screaming, and they couldn't shoot the commercial. They hired someone else." Perhaps this traumatic incident is what prompted her to create a list of aspirations. "I write down all the things I want to accomplish," she says. "I would love to get married and have a family. I hope to have a house in Dublin. I hope to be successful enough to have a little place here and a little place there. And I'd love to continue acting and see where it takes me."
So what does a self-described city lover do for fun in the sleepy Santa Ynez Valley? "What can I say? I like drunk bowling," she says. "I have good hand-eye coordination, but I generally get worse as the game progresses. My friends and I have a lot of house parties. We go to the beach. I can be a wild girl. The way I look is a reflection of my personality. With my big pouf of thick curly hair, look out!"

Miss August 2004 Pilar Lastra

NAME:
Pilar Lastra

Monterey Park, CA
BUST: 34"
WAIST: 25"
HIPS: 34"
HEIGHT: 5' 5 1/2"
WEIGHT: 110 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To be a successful entertainer and make people feel emotions. To use my success for charity and disease awareness.
TURN-ONS:
Body rubs, confidence, a sense of humor. Musical talent is always a plus.
TURNOFFS:
Bad breath, a man who spends more time looking in the mirror than I do. Liars and cheaters stay away!!
JOBS BEFORE I STARTED ACTING:
Bartender, leasing agent. One day I was desperate enough to sell art from my trunk.
ACTRESS I ADMIRE AND WHY:
Demi Moore -- I feel she has made some really brave choices in her career.
FAVORITE SUMMER ACTIVITIES:
Going to the lake and getting on the jet skis, rollerblading, biking.
MOVIES I WISH I'D STARRED IN:
Mission: Impossible, Enough, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Pretty Woman.

Oooh La Lastra Miss August jumps from Texas to the silver screen Pilar Lastra does not take her good fortune for granted. Although the 23-year-old actress is excited to discuss her forthcoming movie roles, she first recalls how she's come such a long way from her home in San Antonio. "My family was so poor that my sisters and I wore boys' hand-me-downs," she says. "My mother and father divorced when I was young. My father lives in Spain, along with most of my extended family. We came from nothing, so I'm grateful now when I look at everything I have." A self-described bookworm in high school who "tried to rebel and be cool," Pilar couldn't deceive her mother without feeling guilty. "I'd sneak out of the house at night, but I would leave a note for my mom so she could contact me. I didn't want her to worry. I never wanted to cause trouble. I never got caught, thank God. I can't imagine my mom crashing a party or calling and going, 'Is my daughter there? You guys aren't drinking, are you?' "
Miss August considered a variety of careers before committing to acting. "One day I wanted to be a brain surgeon, the next a bus driver, then a teacher, then an undercover agent," she says. "I decided to pursue acting because I can pretend to do all those things." Pilar's first role was in a SeaWorld commercial. "I had to ride a roller coaster 25 times in a row and still look excited after take 25," she says. After moving to Los Angeles she shot more commercials and appeared on Days of Our Lives. "I would like a big-box-office movie in my future, but more than that I want a role that requires me to be extremely brave," she says. To build her fortitude Pilar has racked up a few fearless adventures: "When I was 19 I packed my car and took off across the country. I'd also like to go to Spain. I've never been there, but I hear the partying is out of control. I would rather fall on my face a thousand times than live my life thinking, What if?"
While Pilar says she used to be anti-nudity, she changed her mind when Playboy made her an offer. "I figured I should do nudity the right way, not in some cheesy, raunchy film," she says. Next up? Roles in Hollywood P.I. and opposite Gary Busey in the cage-fighting flick No Rules. "I have a bitch-fighting scene in No Rules," she says. "In real life I talk trash, but I never bite. I wouldn't know how. I'd probably start crying."
When she's not pulling hair in catfights, Pilar is a talented singer-songwriter who's looking for a writing partner. "I don't play a musical instrument, so it's hard for me to finish a melody," she says. "I've written songs that I don't hear myself singing, though someone else could knock them out of the park. I'd like to find someone who understands my energy flow." Meeting would-be partners was a snap when she leased out apartments, an occupation that doubled as her own private dating service. "For a while I met all my boyfriends through that job," she says. "I could do a background check, see if they had a criminal history and discover who was in debt. If one said he was a musician, I'd be like, 'Sold!' " Even though she had keys to all her tenants' pads, Pilar swears she never snooped. Except for one time, on Valentine's Day. "I let myself into my boyfriend's apartment to leave candles, chocolate and hearts leading into the bedroom," she says. "It was great."

Miss July 2004 Stephanie Glasson

NAME:
Stephanie Glasson
BIRTHPLACE:
Memphis, TN
BUST: 34" D
WAIST: 24"
HIPS: 33"
HEIGHT: 5' 7"
WEIGHT: 117 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To own an extremely successful business.
TURN-ONS:
Muscles and a Texas accent. I love men in uniform = Navy SEALs.
TURNOFFS:
Stalkers!! Men who can't take a hint. Oh, and bald guys.
MUSICIANS I ADMIRE:
I love so many but Tori Amos and Tool are my favorites.
ON ACTING:
I would love to do a comedy project sometime!
WHY I WON'T SWIM IN THE OCEAN:
I'm terrified of all the creatures swimming around waiting for my tasty toes.
CITY I WANT TO VISIT NEXT:
Miami.

A Midsummer's Dream Discovering Miss July was a walk on a Virginia beach You may find this hard to believe, but Stephanie Glasson, whose middle name might as well be Photogenic, never entertained the idea of modeling until one day last summer when she was approached by a Playboy scout in Virginia Beach. "Honestly, I didn't see what the photographer saw in me," says the 28-year-old, whose less than glitzy upbringing in Memphis, Tennessee (she moved to Virginia three years ago) has clearly kept her grounded. "I'm from humble beginnings. I have three sisters, and growing up we received only what we needed. But if one of us got a new pair of jeans, each of us got a new pair of jeans. Everything had to be fair." Everything, that is, except for who controlled the television remote. In Stephanie's estrogen-heavy household, her stepdad frequently lost out. "He loved sports, but he could never watch them in the house, she says. "We outvoted him."
In college Miss July studied business administration and developed a passion for real estate. She now has her agent's license. "I love to meet people, talk to them and help them with their decisions," she says. "My goal is to start my own real estate company to offer weekly rentals to tourists. I think it's important to add little touches, like gift baskets and thank-you cards. I would also visit my clients and make sure everything was okay with their trip."
When she's not making visitors feel at home, Stephanie can be found whooping it up Virginia BeachÐstyle. "The largest naval base in the country is nearby," she says. "Because of all the guys, there's great nightlife." Her admitted penchant for men in uniform has resulted in brief flings with two Navy SEALs. "I don't want to date anyone who's cocky, but they sometimes give that impression," she says. "I like clean-cut, muscular guys who don't have a brick head. And I have a weakness for a Texas accent -- think Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days."
Stephanie isn't ready to settle down -- at least not while the weather is warm. "As soon as winter hits I want to stay in, start a fire, light candles and watch TV," she says. "But last summer I was out every night. I made a million new friends. I love going to restaurants, especially if they serve calamari." And when the mood hits to visit family back in Memphis, Stephanie often makes the 17-hour road trip in one shot -- but not always alone. "I have a big car, so my two German shepherds, Kane and Shelby, go everywhere with me," she says. "Some people think Kane is vicious because he barks. But if you walk into my house, he'll lick you to death. Shelby is named after my home county in Tennessee. They're spoiled."
We can imagine it now: In a few years Stephanie will have her own business and spend her free time traveling around the United States -- her man and man's best friends in tow. "I can see that," she says. "I'm not stressing over anything these days. I've learned that everything happens as it's supposed to happen, and that's how I live my life."

Miss June 2004 Hiromi Oshima

NAME:
Hiromi Oshima
BIRTHPLACE:
Tokyo, Japan
BUST: 34"
WAIST: 22"
HIPS: 34"
HEIGHT: 5' 4"
WEIGHT: 108 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To pursue modeling and be a successful model.
TURN-ONS:
Intelligence, positivity, sweetness, a good massage, confidence.
TURNOFFS:
Rude show-offs, bad breath.
FAVORITE BOOK:
Catcher in the Rye, J. D. Salinger.
WHO MAKES ME WANT TO DANCE:
Outkast, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Nirvana, Justin Timberlake.
MY MTV MOMENT:
A music video by Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee: "Shake Ya Tailfeather."
PETS:
I love cats and dogs, but I'm allergic.
FAVORITE FOODS:
Sushi, Thai -- Pad Thai and Tom Kha Kai, Pizza! (Who doesn't love it!?)

MADE IN JAPAN America fits Miss June just fine In Japan, where curvaceous figures are not the fashion norm, Hiromi Oshima never entertained the idea of becoming a model. "I'm too buxom to be a Japanese model," she says. "There it doesn't matter if you have nice breasts or a booty. All the models are tiny and super skinny." When Hiromi was growing up in Tokyo, her life revolved around one goal: being accepted into a strict private school to appease her parents. "I couldn't even go to McDonald's after class," she says. "If I wanted to hang out with other boys and girls, I had to change out of my school uniform so I wouldn't get caught." When she wasn't sneaking off or nose-deep in books, Hiromi took jazz dancing lessons. "Music and dancing have become more than just hobbies," she says. "They're my life. I dance to anything with a nice groove that gets my body moving -- hip-hop, house, R&B."
Hiromi's life took a new turn when, during a trip to Florida, she had a chance meeting with a Playboy photographer, who was impressed with her looks. Convinced she should make a go of it in the States, she graduated from college with a degree in communications, moved to the Sunshine State and posed in several Playboy special editions before being picked as Miss June.
"I'm thrilled," she says. "I want to use my Playmate money to travel all over Europe -- London, Finland, Germany -- because I've never been there." Though she'd miss her family and friends back home, Hiromi would like to become a U.S. citizen. "Now I have to go back to Japan every three months because I don't have my green card. It's a long 18-hour flight. I don't think I'll stay in Florida, but I definitely want to live in the States. I'd like to settle down and build a nest. I've always wanted a Chihuahua, but my parents tell me I shouldn't get one right now because I travel too much. The separation would be stressful for both of us." And as for the guy who would share dog-walking duties with her? "Let's see," she says. "I like brawny guys. When they hug me I feel comfortable and protected. I feel so big when I hold hands with Japanese guys -- they're so skinny. I had a lot of buddies in Tokyo, but I never had a steady boyfriend. They all treated me like one of the guys. I had to be tough and funny, hang out and do guy stuff. In America I definitely feel more feminine."

Miss May 2004 Nicole Whitehead

NAME:
Nicole Whitehead
BIRTHPLACE:
Birmingham, Alabama
BUST: 32"
WAIST: 24"
HIPS: 34"
HEIGHT: 5' 4"
WEIGHT: 110 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To be a successful Learjet captain and someday fly home from work to a family of my own.
TURN-ONS:
Cowboy hats, monster trucks, horseback riding on the beach and being proud of who you are and where you came from.
TURNOFFS:
Violence, lack of ambition and someone who gets airsick pulling a couple of g's!
SOMETHING I DO EVERY WEEKEND:
Saturday nights I'm getting wild on a mechanical bull. Sundays I'm all about Nascar. The rest of my time I'm up in the clouds -- my favorite place to be.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE:
The Crow
SOME PLACES I'D LIKE TO VISIT:
Austria to see the famous white Lipizzaner stallions dance. These are some of the most talented horsemen and beautiful horses in the world.
BEST REASON TO LIVE IN THE SOUTH:
Southern Rock and my "Sweet Home Alabama."

READY FOR TAKEOFF Strap youself in -- Miss May is taking you on a wild ride Licensed pilot Nicole Whitehead -- yes, she flies airplanes -- is absolutely fearless. "The first time I flew a plane was also the first time I went skydiving," says the 23-year-old. "I literally dived out the plane door -- they couldn't open it fast enough. When I was free-falling I could see all this amazing scenery at one time -- the ocean, the city and the area where the NASA shuttles take off. It was so pretty, I think I started to cry." Back on solid ground, Nicole, with ample Southern charm (she's from Alabama and lives in Florida), explained to the pilot that while skydiving was a trip, she would be even more excited actually flying the plane. How could he resist? "He took me up and let me take the controls," she says. "It was the best day I ever had. I knew right then that I had to fly for a living."
Nicole earned her pilot's license last August and is currently chalking up solo flight hours. Meanwhile, to help pay for flight school, she works at a local bar (most requested drink: Alabama slammer), models (you may have spotted her on the 2001 cover of Playboy's Natural Beauties special edition) and steals the spotlight in music videos (in Ricky Martin's "She Bangs," she dances -- or bangs -- herself into a frenzy). While definitely a girl on the rise, Nicole isn't going after red carpet megafame. "I would be perfectly happy flying other celebrities around the world rather than being one myself," she says.
Nicole may literally have her head in the clouds, but she credits her upbringing with keeping her grounded. "Nobody comes before family," she says. "We're a bunch of crazy Southerners. I live on a ranch and have a tomboy side. Nascar is my religion. I like to go mudding in a truck. I can clean up and be a lady, but the everyday me wears Levi's, cowboy boots and a tank top."
Those boots come in handy when she tends to her three horses, her admitted first loves, which live on her ranch in Orlando. "When I was six I visited my grandparents in Florida," she says. "They took me to see a dinner show called Arabian Nights. I loved it. The day I graduated from high school I moved there and tried to join the show. I had no formal training, but I'd barrel raced and worked with cows." Once again Nicole put her wiles to use: "I pulled the show manager aside and told him, 'Look, I can smile really big, and I don't fall off horses.' I got the job and worked there for the most incredible two and a half years of my life. I was a trick rider -- I stood up on the back of galloping horses and would flip off them and do crazy stuff."
A rodeo clown could figure out that when it comes to guys Nicole is into the adventurous type. "I definitely like guys who are rugged and strong," she says. "It's sexy when a guy can help me work the horses or fix my car. I'm attracted to cowboys, but I haven't figured out how to find them yet. Maybe hang out at rodeos?"
When we tell her that someday her space cowboy will come, Nicole smiles. "In five years I'd like to be in the pilot's seat, 43,000 feet above everyone else and going 500 miles an hour. My heart is definitely in the sky."

Miss April 2004 Krista Kelly

NAME:
Krista Kelly
BIRTHPLACE:
Toronto, Canada
BUST: 34" C
WAIST: 25"
HIPS: 35"
HEIGHT: 5' 10"
WEIGHT: 127 lbs

AMBITIONS:
To host an entertainment or music show.
TURN-ONS:
A great smile + a great sense of humor = confidence.
TURNOFFS:
Only one word...arrogance! Oh, and bad teeth.
MY ETHNIC BACKGROUND:
German, French, Native Indian, Newfie.
SPORTS THAT I PLAYED IN HIGH SCHOOL:
Basketball, volleyball, kissing tag.
A CHARITABLE CAUSE THAT IS CLOSE TO MY HEART:
I'm very interested in cancer research.
MY CELEBRITY DOPPELGÄNGER:
People tell me I look like Shania Twain. I love her!

Rise and Shine Miss April is the perfect eye-opener When we heard that Krista Kelly's grandmother nicknamed her Motor Mouth, we knew the 26-year-old Toronto native would make for a fun interview. Get Krista charged up about a topic -- her childhood, her Catholic school upbringing, her romantic relationships -- and she'll spin a story at a feverish pace. "I was discovered by model scouts outside an underage nightclub when I was 15 years old," she says, "but I didn't take modeling seriously at first. Growing up I was a tomboy -- very athletic. I hated Barbie dolls, I had no girlfriends, and I hung around the jocks. I didn't like getting my makeup done or being pretty. When the modeling agency asked me to move to New York to continue my career, I caused a lot of trouble. I didn't make curfew, and I wasn't in my room for orientation."
Krista was no easier to handle as a student: "I met a friend who went to Catholic school, and I begged my mom to let me go," she says, "but I used to cut my kilts too short. I actually got suspended for it." Though she still resides in Toronto, Miss April -- whose mother has dual citizenship in the United States and Canada -- believes a move to the States is imminent. "In Toronto we love Americans because they're so friendly," she says. "I always felt like I could relate to them because I've done so much traveling in the U.S. My grandfather is American, so we had family reunions every two years -- usually in Nebraska."
Her favorite place in the world to visit? Anywhere the weather is warm. "I'm a total sun bunny," she says. "I love Rollerblading, tanning and going to the beach, though I have a serious shark phobia. When I vacationed in Canc?n, I would go in the ocean only if there were a lot of people in the water, and even then I would go in only up to my waist." Lest you think she's a wimp, Krista explains that she hasn't had the best luck with water sports: "You're not going to believe this, but I once got lodged in a waterslide," she says. "They had to turn off the park's water supply and rescue me!" Which begs the question: Does Krista enjoy being rescued? "I'm into manly guys, but personality -- especially a sense of humor -- makes a person more attractive. It's cute when a guy doesn't know how to do laundry. He goes into the experience feeling confident, but then it turns pathetic -- but funny -- because he ends up with wrinkly clothes. I like to be in relationships where everything becomes a fun event or activity." When it comes time to settle down with one lucky guy (be he laundry adept or not), Krista has a definite marriage-proposal ideal: "I'd like to find the ring box somewhere totally unexpected, like hidden in a grocery cart while we're shopping or in my food at a restaurant," she says. "I don't want to have a traditional wedding. I want to be naked, or maybe underwater. I would definitely elope, though not anytime soon. My mom would say, 'Krista, get your head out of your little fantasy world and go get married and have babies.' But she knows that isn't going to happen right now. I'm always late for everything."

Hubba Hubby Miss March gets down on the farm Sandra Hubby may be the only woman we know who is equally comfortable riding a jet to a modeling assignment in a far-flung locale and riding a tractor back on the farm. "I learned how to drive a tractor when I was 15," says the 25-year-old Ohio native. "My friends and I were always outside playing in the woods, building forts and that sort of thing. Now I live on a 100-acre farm without a neighbor in sight, so this summer I was driving around the whole spread, cutting hay."
Although Miss March says she started daydreaming about being a model at the age of nine, she wasn't exactly the type to priss and preen. "Growing up I never cared about looking perfect every day," she says. "I would rather wear jeans and hang out with the guys." After high school Sandra even planned to become a Marine but did a career 180 just before she had to take her final oath and ship out. "I wanted to do stuff they wouldn't let a female do, like drive a tank," she says. "I was hoping to become a helicopter crew chief, but in my heart I really wanted to model and maybe act." The Corps' loss was our gain. Sandra has since earned her showbiz stripes working for Hawaiian Tropic and appearing in the Meg Ryan movie Against the Ropes. Still, she never strays far from the country for too long. "I grew up raising and training horses, and there are about 80 on my farm now," she says. "My horse, Angus, is there and we've bonded. He's a good boy -- I treat him as if he were my kid."
While Sandra tries to figure out how to wed an entertainment career with a country lifestyle, she's putting plans for a real marriage on hold. "I'm not ready and don't know if I'll ever be," she says. "He would have to be an outdoors person, a man with a plan. I like a guy who looks good dressed down and yet can look handsome in a suit. I'm part Cherokee Indian and part Scottish, and I have a fantasy about getting married in a Scottish castle and living happily ever after. I wouldn't want to support a husband financially, because I think you should be able to take care of yourself. But if a guy wants to come and sweep me off my feet, sure. Why not?"

Lone Wolf Miss February is on the prowl When Aliya Wolf strides into our office for this interview, we can almost hear her amazing cheekbones slicing through the air as she approaches. "I'm half German and half American Indian, so I have very sharp features," she says, almost apologetically. "People assume that I'm very stern, so I go out of my way to smile a lot, because otherwise I look like the Terminator."
Dressed in a fluffy white robe that she wears between photo shoots, the so-not-Arnold-looking 28-year-old Texan tells us she started modeling as a child when her mother entered her in beauty pageants. "She took me out of them when I was six because she saw all the stage moms with kids turning out like little brats," she says. At 19 Aliya returned to modeling and became Miss Houston USA 1994 and a spokesmodel on Star Search. She married and lived in New Orleans and Canada before returning to Houston with her now three-year-old daughter, Zahra. "My ex-husband and I are best friends, and Zahra is our number one priority," she says. "I bought a quarter horse named Shasta Suntan for my daughter. When I put Zahra up on the horse, she lies down and wraps her arms around Shasta and kisses and pets her. There's something magical between little girls and horses."
We heard Miss February likes riding things with a little more horsepower, such as her Harley-Davidson motorcycle. "I always rode on the back of my girlfriend's Harley, and all the guys thought she was totally hot, so I bought my own," she says. "I've had my license for about a year. Recently I went to a biker rally in Austin where all types of people on their hot rods and choppers ride down Sixth Street looking cool. The girls take off their clothes. It's really wild. I'm more of a weekend biker -- not real hardcore or anything. Most guys I know already have their own bikes, so they're not into getting on the back of mine, but I do take my girlfriends for rides. It's empowering, because so few girls drive Harleys, and I think it's fun to step out of your life for a little while."
When we ask Aliya if she likes badass guys to go with her badass bike, she blushes and bats her eyes innocently. "While I love to go out and have a good time, I also love staying home, doing normal things," she says. "I can't see myself getting serious with a guy who's into the party lifestyle. My fantasy is being with someone with whom everything just comes naturally, someone who is respectful and doesn't try to change me too much. Of course, he also has to be sexy, beautiful, hot and a lot of fun, but those things are a given!" Although Aliya confesses she's had her share of wild nights, she says she has other priorities now. "There's something to be said for having routine in your life -- it grounds you," she says. "One thing I'd like to do is go back to school and study law. I don't think it's ever too late to get your degree, because my grandmother just got her doctorate in psychology, and she's 70. They say if you meet God halfway, then he'll do the rest. Whatever I'm meant to do, I hope it's fun and I can enjoy it as long as I can."

Playboy's 50th Anniversary Playmate colleen shannon turns the beat -- and heads -- around The exhaustive search for our 50th Anniversary Playmate took us all over North America, as we feverishly collected test shots of nearly 10,000 hopefuls. This Miss January not only needed to shine alongside the classic beauties of Playboy's past but also had to represent the ideal for the next half century of Centerfolds. Three lucky screeners picked the finalists, leaving 50 gorgeous ladies for Hef's perusal. When we finally tell 25-year-old Alaska native Colleen Shannon that she has won the title, she responds with gracious words: "I feel blessed, because I wanted to be a part of Playboy for the longest time," she says. "I had a friend whose dad collected all the issues from the 1970s and 1980s. The girls in them were so beautiful, so classy. Now everything that I wished for has happened. It's so surreal."
Colleen moved to California 10 years ago after a childhood spent on one of Alaska's tiny Aleutian Islands. "I lived on a fishing boat while my dad built a beautiful house for us on Pelican Island, where about 300 people live," she says. "There were no cars, no fruit -- we had to drink Tang and powdered milk. It was wild."
Though Miss January now resides in more cosmopolitan Los Angeles, she hasn't necessarily given up the wild life. You may recognize Colleen from music videos by Crazy Town, Blues Traveler and Smash Mouth. She also keeps the music pumping as a DJ spinning at L.A. clubs and as a guest DJ at events like MTV's spring break special in Cancún. "A few years ago my boyfriend at the time gave me a hundred records, and I borrowed my friend's turntable and started playing around," she says. "Music is the only thing that has ever given me chills through my body. I change my style every year, so I don't specialize in one type of music. I've done hip-hop, jungle, disco, reggae and techno. There are so many different ways you can blend music. If you feel it, the people on the dance floor are going to feel it."
Colleen is taking psychology classes, and in her spare time she likes to wakeboard and snowboard or comb vintage record stores to add to her formidable vinyl collection. She's got the beat, and she wants her men to pick it up, too. "If a guy doesn't like music, it kind of puts a damper on things," she says. "It's nice to sit in someone's room and play records for a guy who is going to like them. I'm looking for a man who is fun and spontaneous -- someone who won't take me out on a date and make me think about where to go. I like a man with a plan, for sure."
As the 50th Anniversary Playmate, Colleen's plan is to keep dancing to her own rhythm. "Everyone is put here to do something," she says. "Your subconscious tells you the things that you love to do, but a lot of people put those things aside. I think if you stick to the things you love, nine times out of 10, circumstances are going to go your way and you will live a happy life."
